Profile: Jeanne Maguire Thieme
Biography
Jeanne Maguire Thieme graduated from Southern Connecticut State College
with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. She began her art career
in illustration and design in a Connecticut art studio. Moving to New

now paints in oil and water media full time and also teaches small classes
in her "Pipe Dream Studio" in Swanzey, New Hampshire. She is
a member of Monadnock Artists Guild, New Hampshire Plein Air Painters,

throughout Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maine, Massachusetts and
Vermont.
Artist
Statement
"A dialogue begins to develop between painter and painting as soon
as the brush touches the canvas. To keep up the dialogue until the painting
is satisfied, and the artist is satisfied, is a goal that I try to attain
as each piece goes through it's individual processes - from inspiration
to finished piece. My hope is that in allowing the painting to talk to
me I can express my experience and relationship with my subject in a unique
way-not paint a photo realistic interpretation. My technique and processes
to communicate my expression will always be evolving. I have added oil
paintings to my portfolio and love the uniqueness of each medium. What
do I want to say? How do I want to say it? What does the painting need?
Answering these 3 questions keeps me on a constant quest for discovery
and process. Art is a journey and a process, happily never ending."
